Sukanya samriddhi yojana for marriage and higher education of girl child.
In India, gender ratio is a concern for every class. That is why many schemes are being run by the government for the education, health and other needs of women. Out of this, the main objective of a Sukanya Samrudhi Yojana is to facilitate the education of girls and their marriage. Under this scheme, 'Sukanya Samrudhi Yojana' account can be opened in the postal department/any other authorized bank.
Eligibility:
Only for indians not for NRI
Income limit-upto 3 lakhs annual
Only for family having 1 or 2 girls in case of siblings then for 3 girls
Age of girl child at time of account opening : 0 to 10 years
Documents required: 1.Birth certificate
2.Passport photo
3.income certificate
4.parents id proof
Important terms :
Interest rate : 8.5% approx
Deposit period : 14 years from account opening
Maturity period: 21 years from account opening
Minimum deposit amount: 250₹
Maximum deposit amount:1.5lakh /year
Only 1 account for 1 girl in family
Not applicable for NRI
For higher education You can withdraw only after 18 year of girl child
For higher education you can withdrawl only 50% amount preciding year (if you withdrawn 1 lakh at the age of 18 year in 2028 then you can get only 50,000 if amount balance in your account in 2027 is 1 lakh)
